Objectives of this role
The primary objective of this role is to design, develop, and maintain databases that meet the organization's requirements for storing and analyzing financial data. You will also be responsible for ensuring data integrity, security, and performance across various database platforms.
Your tasks
• Design, develop, and optimize relational and non-relational databases to support the organization's financial data needs.
• Implement data models, schemas, and indexing strategies to optimize database performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with data engineering and software development teams to integrate database solutions into our applications and services.
• Perform database tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Implement data security measures, including access control and encryption, to protect sensitive financial information.
• Develop and maintain documentation for database design, configuration, and best practices.
• Stay current with emerging database technologies and trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
You need to have
• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a database developer.
• Proven experience as a database developer or administrator, with expertise in relational databases such as MySQL and non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with database optimization techniques.
• Experience working with large datasets and complex data models in a financial or similar domain.
• Proficiency in database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with data security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
• Capability to work in multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with cloud-based database platforms such as Amazon RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure Cosmos DB.
• Knowledge of distributed database systems and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Experience with data warehousing solutions and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for database automation and CI/CD.
• Previous experience in the financial services industry or a similar regulated environment.
