Data Operations Manager – Commodities

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
1. Content Knowledge - Commodities
• Own and oversee commodities data coverage including:
o Indian Prices: Polling of agricultural and metal commodity prices
o Indian markets: MCX, NCDEX, physical mandis, import/export flows
o Global markets: CME, ICE, LME, global benchmarks (Brent, WTI, LME metals, etc.)

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of:
o Prices (spot, futures, options)
o Fundamentals (inventory, production, consumption)
o Corporate and macro linkages

• Interpret complex market developments (policy changes, supply shocks, geopolitics)
• Drive enhancement of datasets aligned with evolving client needs (e.g., ESG commodities, carbon credits)

2. Data Operations Management
• Manage the full lifecycle:
o Data sourcing ? ingestion ? validation ? enrichment ? delivery
• Establish and enforce data quality frameworks:
o SLAs, KPIs, accuracy benchmarks, timeliness metrics
• Drive automation across workflows:
o Reduce manual touchpoints through automation
• Identify inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives

3. People Leadership & Team Management
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of analysts.
• Manage hiring, training, and capability building in:
o Commodities domain knowledge
o Data tools and platforms
• Set clear performance goals and conduct regular reviews

Qualifications & Experience
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Economics,

Experience
• 10–15+ years in:
o Commodities data / research / trading / risk
o Financial data providers or commodity firms
• Proven experience in:
o Operations management
o Team leadership
